About Plated Metals
The metals used in some of our jewellery are plated to enhance their colour and finish. Plating is a thin layer applied over a base metal and, like all plated jewellery, may gradually fade or wear with regular use. This is a natural part of plated jewellery and not considered a defect. To help your plated jewellery stay beautiful for as long as possible, keep it clean and dry. Water, sweat, perfume, lotions, sunscreen, soaps and other everyday products can cause plating to wear more quickly.
Remove your jewellery before showering, swimming, exercising or sleeping, and put it on after applying perfume, hairspray and lotions. When you're not wearing it, store it somewhere clean and dry—preferably away from humid areas like the bathroom.
